(1) Camper trailer as purchased. Basically a no-frills tent with a bed, on wheels, with no toolbox, annexe, kitchen or meaningful storage.

(2) With no cupboards or lockers, a variety of hanging storage methods keeps most items off the floor and the internal space as tidy as possible.

(3) A small space under the bed only contains 240V items - for possible use at a caravan park or a powered site. Plus some useful emergency items.

(4) Addition of a toolbox for pegs, ropes, lights, etc. was a major improvement. Winch was shifted and the spare tyre and bracket removed.

(5) A diagram simplifies and speeds up car packing. Easy to see what might be missing before departure from home or the campsite.

(6) Most items have to be packed into the car - rear seat is removed. The 50 litre 4 day cooler remains where it is, covered by a good quality silver tarp.

(7) Ladder, spare tyre, and water containers are carried on top. Everything must be removed before opening the padlocked camper trailer.

(8) Cost of CUB annexe could not be justified. Purchased an Indian-made 16 oz. 12 x 9 ft canvas tarp, attached to the roof with octopus straps

(9) Queen size bed is always made up ready - appreciated after a long day of driving. Covered by a tarp when closed up to prevent dust or damp.

(10) For protection against the weather, or if privacy is required, light weight waterproof polyester wine bar walls can be easily erected.

(12) During wet weather or storms at powered sites, the built-in circuit breaker is a reassuring safety feature if using multiple 240V appliances.

(13) With about 6 sun hours daily, the Jumpstarter 12V power source can be fully recharged by the Gallagher NZ 11W fence solar panel with regulator.

(14) Sink stand holds hot water unit, gas bottle and 12V power source. Hot water unit remains permanently outside shower tent for safety reasons.

(15) Water is usually recycled for hot showers (but not for washing dishes). Budget shower tent quite sturdy. No chemical toilet required as yet.

(16) Soap-free gel and low-lather shampoo are used to lessen suds. Original hoses were replaced voluntarily with quality unkinkable hoses.

(17) Most cooking is on gas stoves - the portable BBQ also has a roasting hood. Backup is a small folding stove that can use wood or BBQ briquettes.

(18) A small footprint means the CUB can be squeezed into small or difficult sites. Fully setup in 5 minutes, handy to know if it is raining upon arrival.

(19) For some security when absent from campsite, an extra grommet was punched into the canvas door to enable use of a padlock and chain.

(20) Usually the spare wheel is used as a jockey wheel stabiliser, and is then padlocked to the metal drawbar of the camper trailer.

(21) On the road between (or at) campsites, extra peace of mind can be achieved using either a wheel clamp and/or the two CUB locks.
